Why people look for an alternative anyway

• No free plan. Growbot offers a 3-day trial; after that it is subscription-only — USD 8.99/month or USD 89.99/year at the time of writing. Three days is not enough to judge follow-based growth: follow-backs take up to two weeks to arrive, so your trial ends before your first campaign can be measured.
• The learning curve. Queues, media lists, per-account quotas, scheduling wizards — power has a price. Growbot's own reviewers put it honestly: it takes a day or two to understand all the functions. If you enjoy that depth, great. If you wanted your first session running two minutes after installing, it is friction.
• More surface, more to configure safely. With dozens of switches, a safe configuration is your responsibility. A simpler tool can ship its protections pre-wired: conservative defaults, hard daily ceilings, automatic back-off when the platform refuses an action.
