Version 3.6.7 — October 15, 2026
- Loading a profile works again. On October 14 Instagram started refusing the request every tool used to look up a profile, so Auto Follow from a profile ended with "Couldn't load @name — Instagram refused the request" for everyone. AutoFollow now reads profiles the way Instagram's own website does. Fixed and live the next day.
- Smart filters (min/max followers) work again and no longer trigger a rate-limit pause — they check each account through the same route as Instagram's website.
- The target profile card follows the URL: type a new profile and the previous account's card disappears.
Version 3.6.6 — October 9, 2026
- PRO limits apply the moment you press Start. If you opened the panel and started a session before our server had answered, a PRO account could be held to the free quota for that session. Fixed.
- Sharper icon in the toolbar, on the extensions page and in the panel header, on every screen scale.
- The store listing now speaks 54 languages (name and summary), up from 19.
- A small ask at the right moment: after a finished session the panel may ask for a review — once, with a "Later", never for a reward.
- Removed the old "Get Key by email" button, which could no longer do anything.
- New pricing for new subscriptions: €9.99/month. Existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at.
Version 3.6.5 — October 5, 2026
- Follow and unfollow work exactly the way Instagram's own website does. Same requests, same details, same pacing signals as when you tap the buttons yourself — the most important safety change since the summer.
- Clear alert when Instagram asks you to confirm something. If Instagram puts a confirmation screen on your account, the panel says so right away, pauses that mode for an hour and stops sending requests, instead of carrying on.
- Sessions vary in size (18–25 actions per round), so a day never runs like clockwork.
- The panel speaks 13 languages: English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Português, Türkçe, Ελληνικά, Русский, العربية, 日本語, 한국어 and 中文. It follows your Chrome language, or pick one from the menu at the top.
- Recent lists are clickable — tap any name or post to open it on Instagram in a new tab.
- Updates install by themselves from now on, never in the middle of a session.
- New store name: "Auto Follow for Instagram - AutoFollow", with a local title in 18 languages.
Version 3.6.4 — September 20, 2026
- Skip mutual followers is fast again. Instead of asking Instagram about every account one by one, AutoFollow now asks about a whole page at once — the exact same call Instagram's own website makes when you scroll your following list. Same accuracy, a fraction of the requests.
- Unfollow reads your list the way Instagram does. 12 accounts at a time, with a natural pause between pages.
- Follow's "Skip My Followers" uses the same one-call-per-page check.
- Community & live help inside the panel. A button in the PRO tab opens the AutoFollow community — real answers from the developer and other users, plus 10 days of PRO free for joining. New installs get a one-time pointer to it.
- Shorter "What's new". The panel now shows only the version you just got, instead of stacking every release since your last update.
Version 3.6.3 — September 19, 2026
- New store name. The Chrome Web Store listing is now "Auto Follow, Unfollow & Like for Instagram - AutoFollow", so the extension shows up where people actually search. Nothing else changed — same extension, same PRO.
Version 3.6.2 — September 9, 2026
- Unfollow works again. On September 9 Instagram quietly changed how it serves your own following list: the route we had used since 2019 started answering with an empty list for every account, so every unfollow session ended with "you don't follow anyone". The following list now comes from the same route the Follow engine has used all along. Nothing was wrong with your account.
- Skip mutual followers checks live, at a human pace. Each account is checked for "follows you back" a few seconds apart, and the answer is remembered — a second run doesn't ask Instagram again. An unknown answer means skip, never unfollow.
- Safe List snapshot fixed. "Protect my whole following list" used the same route Instagram changed and could have saved an empty list over a good one. It now uses the same route as Follow, read at a slower, safer pace.
Version 3.6.1 — September 9, 2026
- Updates inside the panel. AutoFollow can now show you important notices right in the panel — a new version to download, or a change you should know about.
- New payment provider for PRO. Existing subscriptions keep every day already paid for; Upgrade and Billing now open through igautofollow.com, so a provider change never needs an extension update again.
Version 3.6.0 — September 4, 2026
- New name, new home. Instagram's parent company objected to our old name and icon, so we are now simply AutoFollow — new icon, new colors, and a fresh listing on the Chrome Web Store. Same extension, same team, same site. PRO plans carry over automatically: they are linked to your Instagram account, not to the extension.
- Stats now shows exactly what the extension did for you. Three lines — follows, unfollows and likes per day — plus all-time totals. The follow-back estimate is gone: it could only ever check a sample of accounts, which made rates look misleadingly low. Your real follower count lives in Instagram; what we can measure honestly is the work done for you.
- Start button locks during cooldowns. When Instagram temporarily pauses actions, the Start button now waits with it and shows a live countdown — no more guessing whether it's safe to press.
- The listing speaks 14 languages. Easier to recommend AutoFollow to friends anywhere in the world; the extension itself stays in English for now.
Version 3.5.2 — September 2, 2026 (not published separately — everything below shipped inside 3.6.0)
- Honest rate-limit messages. When Instagram temporarily rate-limits an account, loading a followers or likers list can fail — and until now that looked like an empty list, so the session ended with "Session complete" after zero actions. That invited an immediate retry, which is exactly what makes a rate limit last longer. The panel now says clearly that Instagram is rate-limiting, pauses that mode for a while, and the Start button waits with it.
- Rate-limit protection everywhere reads happen. The same detection now covers profile filters and the follow-back checker — which also backs off automatically the moment Instagram starts refusing requests, instead of continuing through its batch.
- Filter safety. If Instagram refuses the profile-detail lookups that power your min/max follower filters, the session now stops and says why — it no longer continues without the filter applied.
- Follow-back tracking is now nearly free. Every unfollow session already loads your following list with live "follows you" status — those answers now feed the Stats chart directly, at zero extra requests, and each one removes a profile from the active checker's queue. The more you unfollow, the less the checker needs to ask Instagram at all.
- No more tab trap during sessions. While a session runs you can hop to Stats and back to the running tab freely; only the other two action tabs stay locked, since their settings must not change under a live session.
Version 3.5.1 — released September 2, 2026
- Follow-back tracking now keeps up with real campaigns. The daily check was capped at one small batch per day and — due to a bookkeeping bug — could re-check the same profiles instead of moving on. It now runs every few hours, always reaches people it hasn't checked yet, and prioritizes your freshest follows, where follow-backs actually happen. After a large campaign, the Stats chart catches up with reality within a day or two, credited to the correct days.
- New coverage line in Stats. The Stats tab now shows "Checked X of Y people you followed in the last 14 days", so during a big campaign a low follow-back number reads as what it is — a queue still being checked, not a verdict on your account.
Version 3.5.0 — released August 28, 2026
- New home. Guides, changelog and support now live at igautofollow.com — and you can reach us at [email protected], with quick links to the right guide built into the panel (cooldown help, full changelog, our site).
- No more silent failures. If Instagram ever changes its internals in a way that affects follow-back checking, the Stats tab now tells you clearly and points to the changelog — instead of the tracker quietly stopping.
- Version badge. The panel header now shows the exact version you're running, so support conversations start with facts.
- Polish. PRO usage numbers no longer wrap on high daily counts, refreshed review prompt, and removal of legacy internal code.

- "What's new" card — after each update, the panel shows once what changed in that release, so you always know why the extension updated.
- Fixed: session appeared stopped while still running. Switching to another browser tab could make the panel show "Start" even though the session was continuing. Session state now survives background idling, and the panel always reflects the true state.

Version 3.3.0 — released August 19, 2026
- Same-day response to an Instagram platform change. On August 18, 2026 Instagram changed how several of its internal follow/unfollow endpoints respond for web sessions. Observed impact: follow and unfollow actions failed, and affected tools across the ecosystem — ours included — surfaced errors that looked like account blocks. We diagnosed the change and shipped the fix the same day; the release went live on the Chrome Web Store on August 19.
- Clearer failure messages. A genuine Instagram cooldown now shows a countdown timer, while an Instagram-side change now says plainly that an update is needed — the two are no longer confusable.
- Private profiles you already follow can now be used as auto follow targets, since their follower lists are visible to you.
- Self-healing internals that adapt automatically to routine Instagram-side identifier rotations, reducing the chance of future breakage.

- Fixed: sponsored Reels could receive likes despite Skip Ads. Reels format ads sometimes hide their "Sponsored" label; ad detection now also recognizes Reels-specific ad formats by their call-to-action patterns.
